flashback

i never take my camera anywhere (partly because i forget and partly because my roommates have sleek, small ones that i'd rather use anyhow). so anytime you see photos on here chances are they've come from another source.

insert this photo. compliments of noelle (darling girl in the red). this is us on the fourth of july in front of the lincoln. quite patriotic to be sitting having the same view of ole abe and watching fireworks adore the sky of the nation's capitol.

the fourth of july in d.c. is truly one of my most favorite times to be in this city.

perhaps my next blog i'll continue the trend of going back in time and try to find something from way back when. you know, like middle school...

a photo to suffice

well, it's not a photo from anywhere i've been, but it's of one of my most loved people, gina ashby. and my new love, kaede.

this past weekend...funny how all i seem to do lately is update post-weekend. perhaps one of these days i'll actually (gasp) write a blog that has nothing to do with my travels.

friday night i had a pre-birthday dinner for ms. charlee voorhees. we went to lebanese taverna and i was beyond pleasantly surprised. who knew lebanese food was so good? add on that my company was the best in town and it made for a perfect evening.

saturday morning i flew up to nyc and seth and i drove up to block island, a charming island off the coast of connecticut. well, it's more like i drove up as once we started our drive seth started making incoherent sentences thus showing how beyond tired he was and in no state to drive. so, after a quick change of drivers, off we went. seth sleeping and me listening repeatedly to the one cd i brought. note to self -bring more cds on my next road trip.

once we arrived we took an hour long ferry ride over to the island. we met up with a group of mostly married and nonmarried couples with the token random intern guy that came along as well. i LOVED this island. everyone rents bikes and scooters to get around and we were running late to meet up with everyone and decided on the scooter option instead. sure it was the lazier way of getting around, but i didn't complain.

once we met up with everyone the rest of the day consisted of riding around the island, stopping at the lighthouse and getting seafood for dinner (coconut shrimp is my new favorite way of preparing shrimp).

sunday we had church and went to central park and had dinner at isabella's. and then i flew home :)

p.s. not quite sure how it happened but i forgot my camera AGAIN this weekend. i promise i do have one...
